Maleme is a pretty village situated in Western crete. It is very quiet and relaxing and there is no need to hire a car unless you want to go further afield.

Elloffinissi Beach Falasarna beach - 1 hour by car. Chania (capital) - 30 minutes Platanias for more lively night life. It is approximately 20 minutes away. Here you will find a much larger selection of shops, bars, tavernas, disco and car hire.

It has superb views of the sea and you are so close you can here the waves rolling in. Maleme is a lovely place with everything needed for an excellent holiday, so far it is not too built up.
