Built on the site of the 14th century church dedicated to the Prophet Elijah which was later destroyed by the Turks this beautifully restored Cretan village house still contains original frescos discovered upon excavation of the site. Rebuilt using only local stone and wood, this house was lovingly rebuilt with reverence to the original structure with help from the local people and there stories. Upon entering the walled courtyard there is a large outdoor summer kitchen with dining area nestled under the shade of a large lemon tree. The kitchen also boasts an original stone oven and BBQ.
Glass doors open into the main cottage and living area with two single sofa beds and open fire place and small cooking area. The bathroom is equipped with a jacuzzi bath tub and w/c and a bedroom with ouble bed lies on the second floor. Efterpi cottage is fully air conditioned.
