Villa Anastasia - Overview
A delightfully secluded, rural, retreat situated in its own large plot (1400 sq metres) and offering breathtaking sea/mountain views, 8m x 4m swimming pool (1.5m in depth), fantastic roof terrace, stylish accommodation and easy access to beaches and all local amenities. Villa Anastasia is a beautiful single storey property with two bedrooms, one bathroom, one shower room and spacious open plan kitchen, living and dining area. The house is well equipped and furnished to a high standard in traditional Cretan style. Sleeps five. There is fifth bed beneath the sofa in the living room. Five minutes walk to the local pizzeria which also stocks basic provisions. 10 minutes drive to Almerida beach. Three minutes drive to shops and tavernas in Vamos. 25 minutes drive to Chania. Newly landscaped garden will be completed for 2007. Car is considered essential when renting this property. Villa Anastasia - Situation Villa Anastasia is located in unspoilt countryside and offers panoramic views of Souda Bay. the beautiful white mountains and Drapanos Mount. Ideally situated for those seeking peace, quiet and seclusion yet with all amenities close to hand. The charming hamlet of Litsarda is a five minute stroll from the house and basic supplies can be purchased from the local pizzeria/mini market alongside delicious pizza (eat in or takeaway). Vamos, a wonderful, traditional Greek village, with a bank, bakers, small supermarkets, two excellent tavernas and the local tourist office is three minutes drive by car. Wonderful beaches at Almerida and Kalives are only 10 minutes drive away. Close to Litsarda there many other beautiful Apokoron villages to explore such as Gavalochori, Douliana, Xirosterni and Kefalas. The local countryside offers many opportunities for peaceful walks following old donkey trails through stunning scenery.
Accommodation
The whole house is light, airy, spacious and beautifully furnished. All furniture is traditional in style and has been made by a local craftsman. There is a large, open plan, kitchen, dining area with high, wooden, vaulted ceilings for coolness. The villa is situated some way above sea level and receives plenty of through breeze in the summer months. However, fans are provided in the bedrooms for guests to use. The pale green kitchen is well equipped with dining table, full size oven, fridge/freezer, washing machine, kettle, toaster and an array of pots, pans and cooking implements. In the living area there is a traditional style sofa (with full size pull out single bed), working fireplace and well stocked bookcase. The sofa itself has also been used to sleep an additional child. Access to the front and pool terraces is through large, glass fronted french doors. A TV, DVD and CD player are provided for guests to use. The master bedroom has two single beds, which can be pushed together to make a double, bedside tables, large wardrobe, dressing table/mirror and french doors leading to a terrace, again with fantastic views out over the bay. An iron and hairdryer are available for guests to use. Next to the master bedroom is a large beautifully tiled bathroom, with dark blue mosaic tiles, complete with full size bath, shower and wc. The second double bedroom is delightfully furnished with two single beds, a bedside table, chest of drawers and mirror all in painted blue wood. There is access to the terrace through french doors. Next to this bedroom is a shower room, again beautifully tiled with pale blue mosaic tiles, with shower, sink and wc.
Outside
There are many terraces and seating areas from which to admire the lovely views. Garden furniture includes tables, chairs, loungers, sun beds and umbrellas. There is also a small bbq. The 8m x 4m swimming pool has its own beautiful white stone terrace and catches the sun all day. It’s wonderful to sit here in the evenings sipping your wine looking out over the bay and watching as the bats swoop down over the pool. Parents of small children should note that the pool is 1.5m in depth and does not have a shallow end. The large roof terrace is the perfect place for sun downers as you watch the sun slip behind the white mountains. There is a white stone terrace which runs all the way round the house offering opportunities to find shady spots during the day or you can lounge amidst the newly landscaped garden. Villa Anastasia is the ideal retreat for those seeking peace and tranquility amidst beautiful natural surroundings and will appeal to both families and more independent explorers.

bob & Pauline says: "My wife & I stayed for one week 25th Sept.This turned out to be the perfect setting for us in our busy lives.The villa was excellent and good value for money,secluded (apart from the sheep)near Liistarda and Vamos where you have a couple of great tavernas,fabulous bakers,butcher and a couple of minimarkets.there was even a petrol station on the outskirts of Vamos. I would personally thank Jane and Trevor the owners for allowing us to use this excellent villa. We shall certainly go back again "

The villa will be thoroughly cleaned prior to your arrival. For a one week stay there are plenty of clean sheets and towels which guests can help themselves to. If you require a mid week maid service, (includes cleaning and changing sheets), during a one week stay this will incur a small extra charge of £25.
