Casa Sofia is a newly constructed property situated in a very attractive rural setting amidst an orchard of almond trees in hilly countryside. From the house there are stunning panoramic views across a beautiful valley visited by a wide variety of birds including birds of prey.

The lovely, friendly town of Villanueva De La Concepcion 6 km away, offers a selection of bars, restaurants, supermarkets and shops. There is also a new public outdoor swimming pool from which there are views of the surrounding mountain landscape. El Torcal National Park with its famous natural limestone sculptures and various walking routes, lies above Villanueva and is 10 minutes away by car. Beyond El Torcal the beautiful historic town of Antequera with its many ancient churches, architecture and prehistoric caves is a 25 minute car journey from Villanueva. El Chorro Gorge, Cordoba and the White Towns, and, further afield, Seville, Granada and Gibraltar are day trips by car.

We wanted a relaxing quiet holiday and everything we wanted was catered for Casa Sofia has provided a very relaxing base where we have enjoyed watching the sunsets over the hills and following the progress of the goatherd and his flocks
